About IFC
Map of Iran in IFC — an export of real OpenStreetMap data for the selected area.
Export buildings to IFC4 format for BIM software. Creates full IfcProject / IfcSite / IfcBuilding hierarchy with extruded block geometry and properties (height, storeys, type). The file contains 3D buildings only: roads, water and landuse are not part of the IFC — use DWG or DXF for those. If tree canopies are ordered, trees are added too (IfcGeographicElement).
Which layers are in the file
The set of layers depends on the selected area.
What this file will not contain
In IFC for Iran the following will not travel: 2 452 water features, 324 728 km² of green areas — the format prints solid volumes extruded from building outlines, and other layers are not part of the model.
File size
The expected size of the IFC file for Iran is about 490.4 MB; the exact size depends on the chosen layers and area.
Coordinate systems

How to use IFC for Iran
- Autodesk Revit — Insert → Link IFC, so the surroundings stay an underlay and do not mix with your own model.
- ArchiCAD — File → Interoperability → Merge IFC; at import, choose a translation profile that preserves object properties.
- BlenderBIM or Bonsai (free) — open the file and inspect the IFC tree, the geometry and the property sets, without buying anything.
How to open the IFC model: it is a single .ifc file, no archive to unpack. Units: metres. The model contains buildings only (IfcBuilding, bodies extruded to their height); roads, water and terrain are not in IFC — order DXF/DWG for those. Opens in Bonsai (BlenderBIM), FreeCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, BIMvision. If the screen looks empty after opening, the file is not empty: use Zoom to fit.

FAQ: IFC for Iran
Which layers are included in the 3D model?
Only building geometry. Roads, landuse, water, and boundaries are not included in the 3D scene. Roads and water are available in DWG/DXF. If canopies are ordered, trees are added too.
Is terrain relief included?
No, the IFC export does not use terrain: all buildings stand at a single elevation (z = 0). Surface relief is available in the Terrain Mesh format.
Does it open in Revit?
Yes, IFC4 is an open standard supported by Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla, and other BIM software.
What level of detail?
LOD1 -- extruded building blocks with heights from OSM tags.
Which properties are attached to the buildings?
The OSM2CDR_BuildingProperties set: height in meters, the computed number of floors, the name and address from OSM, and the functional type of the building mapped to the IFC nomenclature — residential, commercial, industrial or undefined.
