Hillshade (shaded relief) is a raster image simulating shadows cast by terrain for a given light direction and altitude. It is computed from the global Copernicus GLO-30 DEM (30 m) with Horn's algorithm (default NW light, azimuth 315°, altitude 45°). Delivered as a georeferenced GeoTIFF file, or as a background underlay beneath the vector map in PDF/SVG/PNG. Works worldwide, including the high Arctic.
