How to use G-code for Kanye
- LightBurn — File → Open, check the work area (the file is calculated for 300x300 mm), set the power and speed for your material, then run the outline with Framing.
- LaserGRBL (free, Windows) — open the .gcode, look at the toolpath preview and send it to a machine with GRBL firmware.
- Candle or Universal Gcode Sender (free) — simple senders: they show the tool path and help you set the workpiece zero.

FAQ: G-code for Kanye
Which laser engravers are supported?
Any engraver with GRBL or Marlin firmware: Ortur, Sculpfun, xTool, Atomstack, Creality, and more.
Can I use this for CNC milling?
Yes, G-code is compatible with CNC routers. Configure cut depth and tool type in your software.
What materials can be engraved?
Wood, plywood, acrylic, leather, anodized aluminum, stone. Power settings depend on the material.
What work area is the file calculated for?
300x300 mm by default, with margins along the edges: the map is scaled so that it fits entirely and keeps its proportions. For a different machine it is easier to set the work area size at export time than to recalculate the toolpaths later.
Are all the layers processed the same way?
No. Each layer is a separate pass with its own comment in the file, and the power differs between them: roads at full, buildings weaker, green areas very weak. That is what gives different depths on the material and makes the map readable.
