Locus Map SQLiteDB Offline Tiles

Open Beta
.sqlitedb · application/x-sqlite3

Locus Map is an Android navigator from Czech company Asamm Software, popular with hikers, mountain bikers and geocachers. On osm2cdr we export the map into Locus's own raster .sqlitedb container: we render the chosen area via QGIS into JPEG tiles and store them in SQLite with the Locus schema (a tiles table with x, y, z, s, image columns and an info table with metadata). We honour a Locus quirk — the Y axis is stored in TMS convention, so we apply a y-flip. To be honest: this is a raster offline layer (ready-made images) for zoom levels 10–15, not a vector mapsforge map with switchable themes. The limit is 50,000 tiles per file.

关于 Locus Map 格式

Locus Map is an Android navigator by the Czech company Asamm Software, used by hikers, bike tourers and geocachers. The app can work fully offline if the map is already on the device in its own .sqlitedb container — an ordinary SQLite database holding ready-made tile images and a metadata table.

You need the export when there is no signal in the area you are heading to and the built-in Locus sources do not suit you: your own map style, your own set of layers, one particular stretch of a route. The file goes into the app's folder and is connected as one more offline source — no internet is needed to view it any more.

The file from OSM2CDR carries a raster layer: the selected area is rendered on the server and cut into 256x256 JPEG tiles (quality 85) for zoom levels 10 through 15, up to 50,000 tiles per file. Tiles live in the tiles table with x, y, z, s, image columns, metadata in the info table, and the Y axis is written in the TMS convention, just as Locus expects. These are ready-made images, not a vector mapsforge map: the style is chosen at export time and cannot be switched on the device.
