OSM2CDR and TopoExport: a comparison by the numbers
Both services hand the map over as a file for drafting and 3D programs. Below are the figures from both sides, their plans and our own gaps. The TopoExport data was taken from its pages on 2026-09-21.

What we do not have
- We have no native .3dm (Rhino). For SketchUp we ship COLLADA .dae (File — Import) rather than .skp: there is no .skp writer without the proprietary SDK, and we did not disguise the .dae as one.
- There is no roof shape (LoD2): buildings are extruded by height and floor count, without roof planes.
- There is no tree layer derived from satellite imagery: greenery comes from OpenStreetMap, that is, from what mappers have drawn.
- We have no sections along a line as they do: there is an elevation profile along a route, which is a different tool.
What their site shows
- The plans are visible without signing in: BASIC, PRO and PRO+ (the figures are in the table below).
- There are 13 formats: DXF, DWG, 3DM, SKP, PDF, SVG, IFC, OBJ, glTF, STL, GeoJSON, TIFF, TXT.
- Panel layers: buildings, cadastral parcels, roads, railways, waterways, building shadows, trees and green spaces, trees and hedges (PRO), contour lines, terrain mesh.
- The roof-shape layer (LoD2, marked AI) was greyed out — unavailable — on Moscow on the day of the check.
- The Datasets page is public: publisher, product, layer, year and licence by country; the whole world — Overture Maps Foundation 2026, ODbL; terrain — OpenGeoHub Ensemble DTM 30 m 2023, CC BY 4.0.
- Russia is absent from their list of national coordinate systems.

Data licence: ODbL
Our files are built from OpenStreetMap data. The OpenStreetMap database is released under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0, and its cartography under CC BY-SA 2.0.
ODbL permits commercial use: the file may go into a project, into print and into sale. Two conditions apply. First, credit the source: «© OpenStreetMap contributors». Second, if you publish a modified or extended DATABASE, it must be released under the same terms; this does not extend to a drawing in which the map became a background.
We hand the attribution over with the file: the line «© OpenStreetMap contributors» goes into the sheet caption and into the export metadata, and for terrain the elevation source is printed next to it. Nothing has to be added by hand — it is enough to keep that line visible.
