How to Use osm2cdr.com

1Select an area on the map

Find the location on the map (use the search bar) and draw a rectangular selection. Hold Shift and drag to select, or use the selection tool.

Smaller areas export faster with higher detail.

2Choose a format

AutoCAD = DWG/DXF. CorelDRAW = CDR/AI. Illustrator = AI. For print = PDF. For web = SVG. GIS = GeoPackage/SHP. Google Earth = KML. 3D printing = STL.

If unsure, use the "I have..." tab and pick your software.

3Adjust detail level and size

Detail slider: from z8 (country) to z18 (every detail). Page size: A4, A3, or custom. For regions use z10-z12, for cities z14-z16.

'Auto' mode selects the optimal level automatically.

4Click 'Generate'

Wait for the export to complete. It usually takes 10 seconds to 3 minutes depending on area and format. You can leave your email for notification.

Do not close the browser tab during export.

5Download the file

A 'Download' button appears when done. The file is available for 24 hours. Export history is saved at the bottom of the panel.

Open the file in the software matching the format.

FAQ

Export is stuck — what to do?

Wait up to 5 minutes. If it does not finish, try reducing the area or lowering the detail level.

Which format for AutoCAD?

DWG (native AutoCAD) or DXF (universal exchange format).

Can I export an entire region or country?

Yes, but for large areas use low detail (z8-z10). Exporting all of Russia takes significant time.

File is empty or blank — why?

Check that the area has OSM objects. Ocean or desert areas will be empty. Try a city or populated area.

Is this free?

Yes, all 124 formats are free during the Open Beta period.
