The economic and social fabric of a territory: retail, offices, industrial land, mixed-use zones, access to schools, healthcare, food and recreation, and a population-density estimate. Everything is counted from OSM objects — these are indicators for comparing neighbourhoods, not official statistics.
Computes the area and the share of industrial zones in the area and shows how they are laid out.
No extra parameters — the bounding box is enough for this tool.
Estimates the retail saturation of the territory from the number of shops, banks and offices.

Finds the zones where housing sits next to retail and offices and estimates the degree of mixing of functions.

Computes the density of office buildings and a breakdown by type of office.

Finds concentrations of shops and estimates the density and the composition of retail.

An estimate of abandonment from the disused and abandoned tags. This is a sign in OSM data, not confirmed vacancy statistics.

Computes the density of shops, banks, offices and consumer services as an indicator of business activity.

Estimates the accessibility of schools, universities and kindergartens: their number and the distances; the type of institution is set by edu_type.
Estimates the accessibility of supermarkets, cafés and restaurants by their number and how far away they are.
Estimates the accessibility of hospitals, clinics and pharmacies: their number and the distances to the nearest ones.
An estimate of the number of residents from the floor area of residential buildings and the number of storeys; where the storeys are missing, floors_default is used. This is a model estimate, not a census.
Computes the provision of parks, sports and cultural facilities.
No extra parameters — the bounding box is enough for this tool.
The input is a rectangular bounding box in WGS84 plus one of nine data layers; some tools also take a point. The output is GeoJSON, JSON metrics or a GeoTIFF.
| Layer | What it holds |
|---|---|
| buildings | buildings |
| roads | roads and streets |
| poi | points of interest: services, shops, tourism |
| water | water bodies |
| green_areas | green areas: parks, forests, lawns |
| railways | railways |
| boundaries | administrative boundaries |
| landuse | land use |
| waterways | waterways |
Every tool in the section is free. The bounding box may cover up to 100 km². Rate limits are 10 requests per minute per tool run and 30 requests per minute for reading the catalogue. Without signing in you get up to 10 successful calculations a day; after that the service asks you to register and answers 402 with the code login_required. A box larger than the allowed area is also 402, and an unknown tool id is 404.
